The Finn began as a free-standing restaurant on the Touchmark property about 2017 where it served the newly developing Cottage
residences. The latter were being built prior to the construction of the Grand Lodge in 2018. At the time, it was the only available food service on the campus.
After a while it became open to the public as well as residents and eventually became known throughout the Quad-Cities area as a popular restaurant serving
high-level cuisine.
The onset of Covid put a dent in The Finn's further development due to its being closed to the public. Afterwards it was opened for a while and in 2024 it was
closed to the public once more due to the need to feed Touchmark residents while the Grand Lodge was being remodeled and expanded. The Finn never
regained its former glory and was closed completely in early 2025. The Finn building signage was removed about June 2025.
Currently, its fate is unknown. A few prospects have looked at The Finn with the intention of re-opening a restaurant but no agreements have been finalized. A resident-led group known as "Save The Finn" is exploring ways that The Finn or another restaurant might be re-opened. The building it occupied was renamed "The Clubhouse" but long-term Touchmark residents still refer to it as "The Finn".
Residents are currently being served their meals in other Touchmark dining venues:
The Sterling (Independent Living)
The Heritage (Assisted Living)
The Terrace Lodge (Memory Care)
Charley's Pub in the Grand Lodge provides an additional dining venue with a full bar and varied menu. It serves as a gathering place with a pub-like atmosphere different from that of the other dining areas.
